When you join Active Duty, you will have an 8-year commitment with 2-6 year
terms of service. You need to fulfill certain conditions to enlist in the US
Army. Your age should be between 17 and 34. You need to be a US Citizen or
a Permanent Resident Alien. Physical and mental fitness is necessary. You should
also posses a good moral standing.
For Army careers, you can approach a Direct Commissioned Officer, the ROTC OR
JROTC, West Point or Officer's Candidate School.
The Army Reserves give part time Army career opportunities.
Here, you need to make an 8-year commitment and serve at least one weekend a
month and two weeks a year. The terms of service are 1-6 years. If need arises,
you may need to serve full time. To get an Army job in the
Army Reserve, you need to fulfill the same conditions as in the Active Army.
